DISTRICT II
SERVING YOUTH PLAYING THE WORLD'S GREATEST GAME
|
CYSA District II is part of the California Youth Soccer Association — one of the largest youth soccer organizations in the U.S. We serve families in 17 local leagues in San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey Counties.
Our goal is to offer youth players of all abilities the opportunity to play the greatest game in the world — and learn some valuable life lessons along the way as well. Some call it soccer; others futbol. But all can call District II home.
Recreational players can play within their home league, or as part of a play-through league that includes teams from several neighboring leagues. Competitive players can play on teams bracketed within a metro area — or all the way up to statewide leagues. District II’s Olympic Development Program (ODP) offers those with exceptional abilities and commitment levels a path to state, regional, and US Soccer’s youth national teams.
While the primary playing season for District II teams is the fall, District II also offers a developmental spring season — with tournament play for fun experiences in the summer.
MEGA U9-10-11DISTRICT TOURNAMENT A HUGE SUCCESS!!!!Imagine…………………If your local youth soccer officials decided to put together a tournament for U-9-10-11 teams in a tournament format vying for district awards. The tournament would be one of the largest, single location events on the west coast!
In one weekend………………That tournament would require……
Yes, just imagine what went into the unbelievable district tournament held November 12th and 13th in Morgan Hill Ca.
The tournament officials set up 5 headquarter substations to pre-check in all teams. The substations were manned by referee mentors to offer help and support to officials, answer questions from coaches and family members, and help start and end matches on time. The main referee assignor/coordinator headquartered on site linked all the substations via walkie talkie. He gave the signal for start of match, half time, and end of match. The substations reacted simultaneously, thus all fields remained in synch for the entire tournament.
Because of this all teams and fans were able to compete, watch other matches, and stay in one location. The sight of so much great soccer and soccer activity going on in one place was a joy to behold.
And imagine, with the help of a lot of dedicated people, great teams, great fans, IT ALL HAPPENED!!!!!!! JUST IMAGINE!!!!!!!!
This is just part of our District Cup experience. We are hosting over 500 teams from U9-U19 this year.
A similar event is planned for Spring 2012. Look for signup dates so you can join in the fun!
